A few checked facts worth knowing
- HO-2 Broad Form The dwelling and other structures are insured on a named-perils basis. The HO-3 and HO-5 insure them against direct physical loss (open perils). (ISO HO 00 02 10 00, Sec. I, Perils Insured Against)
- CGL Coverage C Medical payments regardless of fault, if the accident happens in the coverage territory and expenses are incurred and reported within one year. (ISO CG 00 01 04 13, Sec. I, Cov. C, 1.a)
- Continuing education and moving out of state Most licensees complete a 4-hour update course specific to the license every 2 years, in addition to other CE. A licensee who moves residence and business out of Florida has the license and appointments terminated. (Fla. Stat. 626.2815(3), 626.551)
- Comparative fault In a negligence action a claimant more than 50 percent at fault recovers nothing, and judgment goes against each party by its percentage of fault, not joint and several liability. (Fla. Stat. 768.81(3), (6))
